This was a once-off, celebration edition handed out as a keepsake on the opening day of the new port, Ngqura, just outside Port Elizabeth to all attendees.
The print finish of the publication was twofold: a hardcover as well as a binded book with endpapers portraying Transnet employees. The cover had a Matt UV Varnish to extend the shelf-life of the publication. The slightly lighter-in-tone grey crane was treated with a spot gloss varnish inclusive of the image of the new port’s entrance on the cover.
GAP’s ROLE:
GAPdesign was tasked with conceptualisation, design, project-management and print production. The content was provided by the client.
GAP contracted a professional photographer, and together we visited the new site with the aim to build a visual portfolio that could complement the narrative.
